Santa in Natomas

Santa in Natomas is a festive holiday tradition that brings the magic of the season to life over three fun-filled nights in December. Santa rolls through Natomas on a fire truck, stopping at more than 20 parks to take photos with kids and families. It’s a joyful, community-wide celebration that spreads holiday cheer across District 3.

Backpack Giveaway

The Backpack Giveaway is a back-to-school event hosted in partnership with Mayor Kevin McCarty to support students and families. The event provides free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, food, and more. Since 2023, the giveaway has helped hundreds of students each year, and in 2025 we provided over 1,800 backpacks filled with supplies to help kids start the school year prepared and confident.

Jump Into Spring

Jump Into Spring is a free, kid-friendly event at Niños Park that has been a highlight for families since 2023. The day is packed with games, activities, prizes, face painting, lunch, and community resources, making it a fun and exciting way for kids to celebrate the season. It’s a great opportunity for families to come together, enjoy the park, and have a fun, free, and safe afternoon.

Celebrate Natomas

For 15 years, Celebrate Natomas has been a beloved summer tradition bringing the community together for a fun, family friendly evening of music, food, and activities. This free event features live bands, food trucks, local vendors, and entertainment for all ages, giving neighbors a chance to connect and enjoy the night.

Celebrate Natomas continues to be a standout annual event that highlights the spirit and pride of the Natomas community.

Día de los Muertos

Día de los Muertos at Northgate Park is a community celebration honoring this cultural tradition through music, art, and remembrance. The event features community altars, live performances, Ballet Folklórico, local vendors, food, and more, bringing neighbors together to celebrate and remember in a meaningful way.

Summer Movie Nights

Summer Movie Nights are a family-friendly tradition held twice each summer at South Natomas Community Center Park. These free outdoor movie nights feature a fun lineup of activities, games, and a full movie experience with popcorn and drinks. It’s a relaxed, summer evening where families can come together to enjoy a movie under the stars.

Natomas Street Eats

Natomas Street Eats is a monthly food truck event held at Orchard Park on the first Thursday of each month from May through September. The event features live music and a variety of food trucks, creating a fun, casual evening of great food and entertainment. It’s a perfect way to enjoy a summer night, try new eats, and spend time with neighbors in Natomas.
