‘It means everything’: South Natomas community joins together for Juneteenth celebration | FOX40 News

On Friday, Sacramento Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes hosted a kickback at South Natomas Community Center to celebrate Juneteenth.

A celebration of black culture, history and love filled the air as people of all ages and cultures united under blue skies and balloons.

Vice Mayor Talamantes said this is her second year hosting this event and it represents another milestone too.

“It’s the first year that the City of Sacramento recognizes it as an official holiday for the City of Sacramento and here we are, as a community, coming together to hang out,” Talamantes said.
